The Afghanistan Cricket Board announced the dates on Sunday for Afghanistan’s all-formats away tour of Sri Lanka in February. There will be one test, three one-day internationals, and three T20 internationals for Afghanistan. Next, they’ll go to the United Arab Emirates to host Ireland for a complete series that consists of one Test, three one-day internationals, and three T20 internationals.
From February 2nd to the 6th, the SSC in Colombo will host the one-off test. On February 9, 11, and 14, the three one-day internationals will take place in Colombo’s R. Premadasa Stadium. After that, on February 17, 19, and 21, the sides will head to Dambulla to play the three T20 internationals.
Taking place in Abu Dhabi from February 28th to the 3rd, the Test marks the beginning of the series against Ireland. Sharjah Cricket Stadium will host both the one-day internationals and the twenty-over internationals. Official dates for one-day internationals (ODIs) are March 7, 9, and 12, with T20 internationals scheduled for March 15, 17, and 18.

After discussions between the ACB and the SLC, the three one-day internationals were added to the Sri Lankan tour, which had previously only featured the Test and three T20 internationals. Not only will this tour give Afghanistan cricket a much-needed boost, but it will also help strengthen ties between the two countries thanks to the inclusion of these three one-day internationals. According to ACB chairman Mirwais Ashraf, AfghanAtalan is more than capable of rising to the task of playing Sri Lanka at their home ground.
Afghanistan’s national cricket team has a packed schedule in 2024, with plenty of high-stakes matches, according to ACB CEO Naseem Khan. This bodes well for the sport in Afghanistan. To get ready for the crucial T20 World Cup, we have a number of key games coming up, including visits to Sri Lanka and India, followed by a home series against Ireland.
Looking forward to the numerous series that are coming up soon.
