Taliban Expresses Its Thanks to India After Afghanistan Enters T20 World Cup Semi-Finals
The head of the Taliban expressed his gratitude for the extensive support that has been offered to the Afghanistan cricket team. This has allowed them to achieve the feat they have today after beating the Bangladeshi cricket team.
Afghanistan, after an interesting game, has quite dramatically made it to the semi-finals. The team qualified by defeating Bangladesh. It is as a result of this that the Taliban expressed gratitude to the Board of Control for Cricket in India. The BCCI and India offered them the required support to develop cricket as a sport in Afghanistan. This achievement happens to mark one of Afghanistan’s prominent milestones in the world of cricket. They have qualified for the T20 World Cup semi-finals. The Afghanistan cricket team will happen to face the South African team in the semi-final match. While team India will be up against England in the semi-finals.
India happened to be among the biggest supporters of Afghanistan in all these years. India has provided Afghanistan with the required facilities as well as sponsorships when it comes to improving their game. India has also contributed to building the Kandahar Cricket Stadium. The contribution was that of $1 million. Besides this, India has provided a temporary home ground for the Afghan team, at the Shaheed Vijay Singh Parik Sports Complex located in Greater Noida, India, besides the other home ground that is located in Dehradun. Apart from this, India hosted Afghanistan’s first test match as early as 2018.

The Indian Premier League also served to provide international exposure to many players and they used this experience when it came to the international cricket sphere. Players such as Mohammad Nabi, and Rashid Khan were able to significantly make use of their gained experience and improve upon their skills. The Afghan skipper, Rashid Khan, also expressed his gratitude to Rohit Sharma for his century, which significantly contributed to the Afghan team securing their qualification by beating Australia in the game.
